How It Started…
I always wanted to be a writer, years before I realized I could make money doing it. After flirting with a career in political journalism (I wanted to be a mix of Bob Woodward and CJ Cregg), I found my first true love: magazine journalism. I worked as an editor in NYC at Self, Food Network Magazine, Family Circle, and Us Weekly, with a focus on fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle content.
First loves aren’t always meant to last (sigh!), so I moved across the country from Manhattan to Manhattan Beach and transitioned into branded content. I served as the Director of Content and Production at Tone It Up, the leading fitness and lifestyle community for women, where I combined my passions for storytelling and wellness. In my role at Tone It Up, I oversaw the editorial direction of the brand and created content across all platforms. I also learned the power of selling with a story and collaborating with a brilliant female-led team!
